Chocolate Buttercream

In this Chocolate Buttercream, I prefer using real chocolate instead of cacao powder to avoid clumps in the batter. And WHO doesn’t like more chocolate in their chocolate buttercream ? I don’t think anyone would mind…

Sufficient for covering 1 cake of 4-8 people serving


  • 250g butter
  • 100g chocolate
  • 80g powder sugar


  1. Mix the butter and the sugar until creamy paste
  2. Add the cooled down melted chocolate and mix
  3. Frost the cooled cake.

I used this recipe for my Devil’s Food cake but it can be used on any other cakes like in combination with the genoise cake.
